WCPP
The British Equestrian Federation (BEF) has been running the Lottery-funded World Class Programmes (WCP) since 2002 as a long-term plan to identify and develop outstanding talent in the equestrian sports of dressage, para-equestrian dressage, eventing and show jumping.
There are two levels – development and performance – based on a template that has been successful for other Olympic sports. The development programme is for riders aged 16-30 and the WC performance squad is made up of riders of any age competing at the highest level.
All the riders have individually tailored training plans and opportunities to be taught by international riders and coaches.
For more information about World Class and how to join, including minimum selection criteria, visit the BEF website.

World Class Dressage Equine Pathway Programme
The World Class Dressage Equine Pathway Programme was launched by the BEF in 2006 to identify and develop horses to win medals for Britain.
The scheme has three levels of support. The first group receives training, the second home visits as well as training, while the third group will have more regular visits and training sessions. At each session, riders will receive a training, competition and veterinary review and each rider will have a mentor.
If you have a horse that might be suitable, please contact David Trott (tel: 07710 753932) David Trott says: "We will consider horses for this scheme at any time of the year and working at all levels, not just youngsters, as long as he or she has tip-top ability."
