My daughter is 16 years old (17 in Sept) and a member of BD. She rides a 14hh pony with much success up to Novice and is going to start Elementary soon. She would love to attend a talent spotting day but has been told she is too old to ride a pony and must compete on a horse in order to attend talent spotting. Can someone explain. RE: Talent Spotting
It's just the way the rules are laid out. They have 3 categories split into the following age groups... 11-16yrs on ponies 13-18yrs juniors (On horses) 19-25yrs Young riders (Also on horses) She can only do it on ponies until the end of the calendar year in which she turned 16...which was last year. Look at the page on BD website which states the rules. https://www.britishdressage.co.uk/uploads/File/New%20site%20PDF- ... Hope this helps Reply to this message Report this as inappropriate |

RE: Talent Spotting
Probably due to the fact that these are the FEI age limits for competing internationally. Reply to this message Report this as inappropriate |
