It is easier than you think – all you need to do to qualify is score just 62% twice at one level from preliminary to elementary and 60% from medium to prix st georges between 1 January and the closing date for entries for your area festival
  • You can qualify for championships
  • There is regional training for riders at all levels given by British Dressage (BD) accredited trainers
  • We run regional training clubs for trainers to improve standars of teaching, which you can join
  • You can work for a top trainer through our apprenticeship scheme 
  • There is a training scheme for young riders aged eight to 25 years called BYRDS (British Young Rider Dressage Scheme)
  • You can become a dressage judge
  • Free personal liability insurance for all private equestrian activities
  • Free personal accident insurance for all private equestrian activities, excluding racing 
  • We have negotiated special music licensing terms, so you have a wealth of music to choose from for your freestyle tests
  • You will receive a free copy of British Dressage magazine, published every two months, packed with news, training features and show schedules
  • Free booklets with details of listed judges and registered British Dressage trainers
  • A copy of British Dressage Rules 2008, which has lots of info about what judges are looking for from you and your horse

  • You can buy tickets at a reduced rate for our annual national convention. This is a two-day training seminar taken by a top international rider/trainer held in November at Addington Manor Equestrian Centre, Bucks
