Munich CDI: Bigwood and Ross-Davies hold their own in Germany

British riders Fiona Bigwood and Anna Ross-Davies held their own with good placings at Munich CDI in Germany, 17-20 May 2007.

Anna Ross-Davies and Donald McTaggart’s 10-year-old Liebling II finished third in both the grand prix (65.833%) and grand prix freestyle (69.85%). They have produced consistent, good scores in their first year at this level, having competed in the Spanish Sunshine Tour, Stadl Paura, Saumur and now Munich.

Anna said: “It is exciting to be well placed at a big German international show. We had torrential rain in the grand prix, which is why everyone’s marks were low in this class. Liebling has never had to do a grand prix test in these conditions. I was so proud of him.”

Fiona Bigwood’s ride Mr G de Lully showed he was back on form after he knocked himself at Saumur CDI a couple of weeks ago and was withdrawn from the grand prix special. Here, the 14-year-old Swedish-bred gelding scored 69.25% in the grand prix and 70.56% in the special to finish fourth each time. Germany’s Isabell Werth and Satchmo won both tests.
