Belgian-based Brit Wayne Channon and Lorenzo CH were back on form to win the grand prix and grand prix freestyle at Lipica CDI-W in Slovenia, 31 May-3 June, the same classes they won in 2006 at the same show.

 

Wayne and his 14-year-old Dutch-bred stallion scored 67% in the grand prix and then stepped up a gear to take the freestyle with 73.3%.

 

Wayne said: “He was a little under the weather in the grand prix. I had the vet check him over, but he said he was fine and in the freestyle I was thrilled with his performance as he was back to his usual self. He is an outdoor horse and my strategy now is just to compete him outdoors. He simply doesn’t like the noise at indoor competitions, so there is no point going to them.”
