New judge accreditation system
A new judge accreditation system is being introduced from November 2007 to encourage those with the right knowledge and experience to progress through the levels, known as lists, more easily.

Anyone who would like to become a judge or move up a level will be asked to complete an application form with details of their experience. This CV has to be signed by two judges or trainers, who must also provide separate references to confirm the candidate’s suitability.

The judges committee will assess this and, if approved, the applicant will be sent an exam paper and asked to arrange a practise judging session with 12 horses. If successful, the final stage is to pass a practical testing day.

For full details and to apply, contact British Dressage Judges Officer Lianne Harris (tel: 02476 698834).
