Nemo III, the international grand prix horse owned by British Dressage Marketing Director Lindsey Roberts and ridden by Lisa Hopkins, has died unexpectedly aged 12.
The 16.2hh gelding of unknown breeding was found dead in his stable at the Royal Veterinary College in Potters Bar, where he was having a routine scintigraphy.
Lisa and Nemo were members of the World Class Potential Squad and reached third place in the British Dressage small tour rankings last year. This year they have been placed at big tour at Hartpury CDI and the national championships.
World Class Performance Manager David Trott said: “We had been so pleased with his progress, we had just promoted him to a new level of support we created in World Class called the international level, which is for grand prix horses that are in contention for teams. It’s a great loss.”
