Olympic update: countdown begins

Britain’s Olympic campaign is hotting up with less than 100 days to go until Beijing 2008. The British Olympic Association has launched a new website to mark the milestone; you can follow Britain’s finest athletes on their journey to the greatest sporting event on www.teamgb.com. There is more news on the dedicated equestrian website www.equestrianteamgbr.co.uk.
The Olympic dressage schedule has also been released and here are the key dates:
- Wednesday 25 June: Team will be announced
- Tuesday 22 July: Horses go into quarantine at Hartpury College, Glos
- Wednesday 30 July: Horses fly to Hong Kong
- Wednesday 13 August, 7.15pm: The grand prix team competition part 1
- Thursday 14 August, 7.15pm: The grand prix team competition part 2
- Saturday 16 August, 7.15pm: Grand Prix Special
- Tuesday 19 August, 7.15pm: Grand Prix Freestyle
- Friday 22 -Saturday 23 August: Horses fly back
The Paralympic schedule is as follows:
- Monday 16 June: Para-equestrian team will be announced
- Monday 18 August: Para horses go into quarantine at the Unicorn Trust, Stow on the Wold
- Tuesday 26 August: Para horses fly to Hong Kong
- Monday 8-Friday 12 September: Para-equestrian dressage competition
- Sunday 14-Monday 15 September: Horses return
