Former British team member Fiona Bigwood gave birth to a baby boy on the 19 April 2008. Morten Christian Dahl is pictured with his dad, top Danish dressage rider Anders Dahl, sister Mette and mum.

 

“He was born early at 33 weeks, so had to spend two weeks in the intensive care unit, but he has done really well and is now home,” said Fiona, who represented Britain at the European Championships last year.

 

It has been an emotional year for Fiona, who lost her top ride Mr G De Lully earlier this year after the horse broke his leg in a freak accident. Currently based in Germany, the family is planning to move back to Britain in the near future.
