Britain’s para riders look promising

Britain’s para riders have been out in force at the recent international competitions Moorsele and Mannheim CPEDIs with great success and chairman of selectors Jane Goldsmith has high hopes for the Paralympics later this year.

“Our position in grade I is strong and I’m optimistic that we shall continue to do well. There are other riders from different countries who are a threat and the German strength lies in grade II and III. There are still areas that need to be scrubbed up, but they are achievable. Our horses are good enough if the riders ride them well enough,” said Jane, who was particularly impressed by Denise Shawns, who managed to beat the current grade IV World and European Champion in a freestyle test.
