The news of the death of dressage horse owner, competitor and sponsor Vyvien Randall has shocked and saddened the dressage world.
It was thanks to Vyvien that her family business, Blue Waters Hotel, became the main sponsor of the national championships in 2006 for a three-year term.
British Dressage sponsorship manager Maggie Jackman said: “Vyvien has been a true friend to our sport for many years as a competitor and a sponsor. She was committed to developing dressage, giving much valuable help and advice on improving the nationals, and was passionate for the true amateur 's achievements to be recognised. She will be greatly missed."
The funeral will be held at 11am on Friday, 20 June, at Biddlesden Church, Northamptonshire. The family has requested contributions towards the Brooke Hospital for Animals (tel: 0845 367 1934) and/or the World Horse Welfare, formerly known as the ILPH, (tel: 01953 497 242) instead of flowers.
