An all-star cast of guest speakers and presenters has been announced for the 2017 Para-Equestrian Coaching Symposium, which will be held at Moulton College in Northamptonshire, 28-29 January 2017.
Supported by Sport England, the two-day conference is open to everyone hoping to develop their skill and knowledge in para coaching. Great Britain is the leader in Para Dressage and we have an impressive pool of talent to call on as well as leading experts from other sports. Whatever your role in the sport, be it rider, coach, judge or trainer, there’ll be something for you whether you attend one or both days.
Headline speakers include Janie Frampton, a specialist in the education and development of sports officials across all sports. Janie has been an active football referee for 26 years and is one of only a handful of FIFA Referee Instructors in the world. An experienced facilitator and lecturer, Janie specialises in developing people through learning, and inspiring them to believe in and achieve their own potential.
Also taking centre stage will be BEF World Class Programme personnel, namely Para Dressage Podium Potential Coaches Nina Venables and Angela Weiss (pictured left), and Equine Physiotherapist Helen Mathie plus the BEF’s Anti-Doping Programme Manager Sophie Thomas, British Paralympic gold medallist Sophie Wells (pictured right), FEI Para Judge Sarah Leitch and former international athlete and leadership development professional, Rosie Mayes.
Visitors on Sunday will have the chance to see Sophie Wells and her protégée Izzy Palmer ride during their afternoon session. The two riders will help Angela Weiss and Sarah Leitch to demonstrate the interaction between the whole team of coach, athlete, judge and mentor and how they work together to deliver performance.
Led by BD Para Director and Para Dressage Podium Potential Discipline Co-Ordinator, David Hamer, the weekend offers the visitor an exclusive opportunity to learn from a huge wealth of professionals all under one roof.
Full programme to be released soon.
Tickets for the day cost £30.00 with weekend tickets available for £50.00. To purchase yours click here.
