Judy Harvey, who is a dressage trainer, competitor, international judge and British Dressage (BD) selector, has been awarded the 2005 British Horse Societys (BHS) trainers award for outstanding contribution to equestrian training.
“I was judging in Africa – I was in the middle of dinner in a Namibian game reserve to be precise - when I received a text message inviting me to the awards ceremony and telling me I had been nominated,” said Judy, who used to be on the BHS training committee and is a BHS Fellow. “I am incredibly honoured that they have recognised what I am doing.”
Another international dressage judge, Stephen Clarke, received the BHS Honorary Fellowship, which he had been awarded earlier in the year, at the ceremony. The BHS presented a total of 15 awards to show its appreciation to volunteers who have supported its work. For full details visit the BHS website, www.bhs.org.uk.
