Britain’s Felicity Coulthard finished sixth in the grade II individual test at the 2008 Beijing Paralympics, which are being held at the Sha Tin racecourse in Hong Kong.
The Lancashire-based Paralympic debutant said: “It was not how I was expecting it. I didn’t really notice the crowd and enjoyed it. I’m looking forward to the freestyle. The music I have really suits Roffelaar and I probably have a better chance of getting a medal in that competition.”
The 24-year-old, who rides her own 10-year-old 16.1hh gelding Roffelaar, won bronze in the grade II freestyle on her first appearance for Britain at the 2007 world championships.
The remaining British riders will contest their individual championship tests tomorrow, Tuesday 9 September.
