Wiesbaden CDI: Hindle on song

last updated on June 06, 2006 00:00

Britain’s number one ranked rider, Emma Hindle, was on good form at the fiercely competitive Wiesbaden CDI in Germany with her two stallions Lancet and Diamond Hit.

Emma, who is based in Germany at the Brookhouse Stud, rode her 13-year-old 17hh Hanoverian stallion Lancet to fourth place with 71.75% in the grand prix freestyle, using her old music from Wie Weltmeyer. She also finished seventh in the grand prix. Denmark’s Andreas Helgstrand and Blue Hors Cavan won both classes.

With the nine-year-old Oldenburg stallion Diamond Hit, Emma took second in the prix st georges as well as third in the intermediaire I with 69.55%. Germany’s Helen Langehanenberg riding Responsible won both classes.

“I am chuffed with both horses. They did exactly what I asked. I had a good feeling in the grand prix with Lancet, but the judges didn’t feel I rode him forward enough, so I rode him more forward in the kűr and got better scores.”

Two other German-based British riders featured in the placings. Susan Pape rode the eight-year-old Hanoverian stallion Baroncelli to fourth place behind Emma in the intermediaire I on 68.2% and finished seventh in the prix st georges. Charlotte Heal was 10th in the prix st georges and ninth in the intermediaire I with Clinten, a horse she had ridden for only 10 days.
