Dressage doyenne Jennie Loriston-Clarke MBE FBHS was one of eight riders to be inducted into the British Horse Society (BHS) Equestrian Hall of Fame, which was launched last year.
In a distinguished dressage career, Jennie has represented Britain at five Olympic Games and won bronze at the 1978 World Championships, the same year she became a Fellow of the BHS.
Jennie is renowned as a trainer and judge as well as being a passionate supporter of British-bred horses, having trained home-bred horses to international level. Last month the Queen presented Jennie with the first Queen’s Award for Equestrianism.
The other new laureates were Robert Oliver, Mark Phillips, Bertie Hill, Caroline Bradley, Marion Mould, Nick Skelton, Douglas Bunn and two horses, Tosca and Beethoven.
Plaques to commemorate all the laureates in the BHS Equestrian Hall of Fame are to be displayed on the wall of the Household Cavalry’s Barracks in London.
You can cast your vote to nominate equestrians and horses as laureates by emailing your suggestions to HallofFame@bhs.org.uk.
