New arena at Windsor
A new arena is in the process of being built at Windsor in time for the Alltech FEI European Jumping & Dressage Championships 2009, which take place on 25-30 August.

Martin Collins Enterprises is building a 68x80m arena with Ecotrack synthetic surface next to the existing current warm-up arena, also constructed by Martin Collins. It will be used during the Europeans for riders to exercise their horses before they move to the warm-up arena and then take centre stage in the Castle Arena.

Simon Brooks-Ward, event director and managing director of the show’s organisers, Hpower Group, said: “The European Championships are destined to be a formidable, world-class event, not just for the equestrian world, but the sporting world in general. A new arena was needed in order to support this goal.”

The arena will also benefit Royal Windsor Horse Show and has been named the BHS Frogmore Arena in celebration of the show’s successful partnership with the British Horse Society.
