The first day of competition at the 2009 Event Insurance Services Winter Championships, at Hartpury College, Gloucestershire, 8-12 April, kicked off with a total of six titles on offer.

Today completed the popular Spillers Combined Training Championships as well as the Biotal Equine Gold Medium Restricted Winter Championship, the Blue Chip Novice Open Winter Championship and the Baileys Horse Feeds Novice Open Music Freestyle Championship.

Biotal Medium Restricted Winter Champion: Sharon Boyd and Valentino Toftebjerg, 67.13.

Blue Chip Feed Balancer Novice Open Winter Champion: joint winners, Lucy Cartwright and Waterloo V and Alice Oppenheimer and Headmore Delegate, 69.17.

Baileys Horse Feeds Novice Open Music Freestyle Winter Champion: Alice Oppenheimer and Headmore Delegate, 76.3%, who were also joint winners of the Blue Chip Novice Open Championships.

Spillers Response Preliminary Combined Training Champion: Rachael Ward and Ballinmore Blue Max, 160. This combination are trained by Caroline Moore, who won the Spillers Response Novice Combined Training Championship.

Spillers Response Novice Combined Training Champion: Caroline Moore and Newmiln Jamestown, 202.

Spillers Response Open Combined Training Champion: Gill Pollard and Gambarda, 231, retain their title.
