CDIP Weert, NL: Pony Squad rider impresses on international debut

last updated on June 11, 2009 17:24

CDIP Weert, NL: Pony Squad rider impresses on international debut British pony rider Claire Gallimore put up an impressive performance in her first ever international overseas competition at the CDIP Weert, Netherlands, 7-10 May 2009. The 15 year old from St Albans in Hertfordshire rode her 14.2hh gelding Gigolo to a 5th place in the Freestyle to Music on 71%.

Gallimore also posted a creditable 6th in the Team test and 10th in the Individual. The achievement was all the more worthy given the ranks of Dutch competitors out in force to catch the eye of their selectors, with the event being used as the host countries pony selection trials for the Europeans later this year.

The Pony European Championships take place in Moorsele, Belgium on 29 July-3 August, 2009, with the Juniors and Young Riders European Championships held on 3-9 August in Ermelo, Holland.
