Diamond Hit, ridden by one of Britains top riders Emma Hindle, has won the prestigious title of VTV Insurance Best Performing Oldenburg Stallion Of The Year 2005 in Germany.
Emma, who rides for the Brookhouse Stud near Frankfurt, has had the ride on the eight-year-old Diamond Hit (Don Schufro x Ramino) for the past three years and is planning to start him in grand prix next year.
“He is my big hope for the Beijing and London Olympics. If I ever win a medal, it will be on Diamond Hit,” said Emma, who has been placed consistently with him in small tour in Europe.
The award, which was presented to Emma at the Oldenburg headquarters in Vechta, also recognised the success of Diamond Hit’s offspring, notably Loxana, the 2005 Oldenburg champion mare, and Donovan, who won the Bundeschampionat. Three out of four Diamond Hit progeny were also licensed at the 2005 Oldenburg stallion licensing, which took place on the same weekend as the awards.
The reserve champion of the licensing was the British-owned First Final (Furst Heinrich x Argentinus). Sarah and Tony Pidgley will be standing him at Germany's state stud in Warendorf.
