Hindle shows spirit to win in Wiesbaden

German based Brit Emma Hindle recorded a double win at Wiesbaden CDI 29 – 30 May 2009 taking both the Grand Prix (70.89%) and Grand Prix Kür (73.95%) on her Olympic partner the 16.2hh brown stallion Lancet II. The pair rode to victory with a new Kür ridden to the Bryan Adams soundtrack from the film Spirit.

“There nothing better than to hear the British National anthem playing, especially in Germany” said a delighted Hindle. "I was very pleased with Lancet in the Grand Prix, I made a mistake going into the two time changes when I tried to ride him too forward but that was my error. He felt fantastic throughout the test and we’re getting back to some of the lightness and energy he showed in Hong Kong."

"The music of our new Kür fits him very nicely but we’ve got some adjustments to make before Rotterdam. It started very well but the timing of the canter tour needs to be rearranged as we were running behind the music by the end.”

Emma Hindle and Lancet’s next competition will be Rotterdam CDIO, 18-22 June, and Britain’s European Championship team will be announced on Friday 14th August.
