last updated on July 02, 2009 13:50
The Dressage Deluxe National Dressage Championships 2009 will be held on 17-20 September and promises to be an unforgettable event.
Quite unlike any other championships the summer nationals spring up in Stoneleigh Park each year to offer up four unmissable days of dressage heaven. The event is the jewel in the crown of the BD summer competition season and the dressage party of the year!
Get Inspired
Be part of the drama of the occasion as over 500 of the nations most talented horses and riders gather for battle; seasoned professionals and talented amateurs riding side by side. Experience first hand the grace and power of our equine athletes and share in the celebrations as we crown national champions for 2009 in 17 classes from prelim to grand prix.
Get Up Close
Small and bijou by many standards the compact layout is easy to get around and nevertheless offers plenty of delights. As well as the polished performances of the main arena you’ll be able to stop by the warm up and really get up close and personal with the action - see first hand the grit, determination, exhilaration and joy of our remarkable sport. ‘Radio Nationals’ on air throughout the show will help to unravel some of the more complex nuances of dressage with expert commentators and special guest appearances.
Get Entertained
Alongside the competition an array of dressage focused displays add to the sense of occasion. Top of the bill Richard Davison will be joining us to give two master classes, supported by the National Saddle Centre. Richard’s clear, logical approach to training is both accessible and inspiring for riders. With his down to earth attitude and sense of humour this promises to be a fantastic opportunity to learn from one of the best in the business.
Get Shopping
A trip to the nationals wouldn’t be complete without a shopping fest thrown into the bargain and visitors will be spoilt for choice with so many dressage specialists in one place. Wander round the tented village, soak up the buzz and enjoy the friendly atmosphere as we prepare to ‘do dressage’ from dawn till dusk for four magical days. If you’ve never been to the National Dressage Championships you’re missing a treat!
What last year's visitors had to say:
“What a wonderful atmosphere. I’ve never been before because I though it would be like attending any other dressage championships – how wrong I was! We were transfixed and even forgot to shop!”
“We love being able to see so may top riders in a professionally run show. The shopping is good quality without miles and miles to walk and its friendly and affordable – perfect!”
