Vacancy - Regional Development Officer (Southern Region)

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join British Dressage in the pivotal role of Regional Development Officer for the southern region. Working full-time from home, the successful candidate will cover Surrey, Kent, Sussex, the Channel Islands and the Isle of Wight. We are seeking an enthusiastic, energetic team player, with excellent inter-personal and organisational skills. You will need to be an independent, self starter with an in-depth knowledge of affiliated dressage, ideally located within the region.
You will work closely with the volunteer regional committee which includes a chairman and representatives for coaching, rider training, judges, para dressage, members and BYRDS. Reporting directly to the chief executive you will be required to facilitate the implementation of policy from the main board and technical committees.
The Regional Development Officer will be responsible in the region to:
Manage the regional budgets ensuring financial regulations are adhered to in the region, to include effective budget planning, monitoring and reporting
Oversee the assessment and monitoring of affiliated venues within the region, and liaise with organisers to agree the regional calendar of show dates
Liaise closely with relevant departments within the British Dressage office and other Regional Development Officers to ensure a coordinated approach to activities
Work closely with key partners (such as the BEF regional staff, member body staff, county sport partnerships etc.) to maximise on joint initiatives and fund raising within the region
Provide regular updates for the regional web pages, news letters and BD magazine and support with the promotion of British Dressage and its activities
Provide information, advice and guidance on all aspects of dressage to those living within the region
Attend and support key fixtures within the region (such as regional championships, area festivals, premier leagues etc)
Organise judge training and seminars, training camps, clinics, members and organisers meetings and other relevant activity for members within the region, as directed by the committee
Work closely with other Regional Development Officers to facilitate the effective running of the Home International and Inter-Regional competitions
Any other activity as directed by the chief executive or deputy
British Dressage has ambitious plans for growth and you will take a central role in delivering dynamic initiatives. A flexible approach to working will be required and evening and weekend work is an essential aspect of this role.
Candidates will be required to have a full driving license and access to their own car. Working from home, computer and internet access is essential, as is experience of Microsoft software packages.
Salary £25,500 per annum
