Retraining of Racehorses along with British Dressage and South Essex Insurance Brokers have launched a new points championship with a prize of £1,500 and a commemorative trophy to go to the winner.

The Dressage Performance Award is open to any level, from prelim to grand prix. The ex-racehorse winning the most BD points between 1 September 2008 and 31 August 2009 will be named the winner, with prizes also awarded for second (£500) and third (£300) places.

If you compete in dressage with your ex-racehorse and would like to enter this year’s competition you must register your eligibility for the points scheme with BD by 31 September. Horses can be registered with RoR retrospectively so if you have been clocking up BD points this season but aren’t yet RoR registered there’s still time!

The prizes will be awarded at the British Breeding Awards in London in January 2010.
