Charlotte Dujardin (pictured), Rachel Finan and Lizzie Murray all enjoyed double victories at the SW Regional Championships, Kingston Maurward on 27-29 July.

Charlotte Dujardin and Glenys Hemming’s 9 year old Jazz gelding Abbey Tiron (pictured) took the Elementary Open and the Medium Open with 76.07% and 71.71% respectively - the former being the highest score of the show.

Rachel Finan headed two classes - the Novice Open with the 6 year old Diamond Hit gelding, Cold Diamond and the Elementary Restricted with the 7 year old Sandro Hit mare, Coco Channel. Both horses are owned by Jodie Lister, for whom Finan has worked for 18 months.

“I am absolutely thrilled to pieces with both horses. Cold Diamond didn’t change from the working in to the arena and felt so secure in his test,” explained Finan “and Coco Channel was totally on my aids, listening to me fully which left me to focus on riding the test.”

“I’ve been out competing to get more test-riding experience and it’s really paid off. I now feel that we are replicating the work we do at home.”

Another double winner Lizzie Murray took both the Advanced Medium Open and the Prix St Georges with Jennie Loriston-Clarke’s 8 year old British-bred mare Catherston What A Dream.
