British international dressage rider Fiona Bigwood and her Danish partner Anders Dahl have had a baby girl.

Fiona is based in Germany, but gave birth to baby Mette Clare two weeks early during a visit home.

"Everything was organised for a German birth, so Anders had to make a mad dash back to England, but luckily he did make it in time," said Fiona. "I am loving motherhood and spend the whole day mesmerised by this tiny baby, but I have already been back riding, so hopefully it won't be long before I can compete again."
 
Fiona was a member of Britain’s 2005 European Championship team with her Swedish gelding Mr G De Lully.  Anders has competed Fiona's horses this year, scoring more than 68% with Mr G De Lully in the grand prix at Hansbeke CDI in Germany in May.
