Sporting greats converge on Windsor: 5 days to go!

Definite entries are now in for the Windsor European Championships, confirming the presence of some of the world’s greatest dressage superstars – human and equine! The British team of Laura Bechtolsheimer, Maria Eilberg, Carl Hester and Emma Hindle are primed and ready and will be joined by the likes of Anky Van Grunsven and Salinero, Adleinde Cornelissen and Parzival and Edward Gal with the horse of the moment Moorlands Totilas.

In total 18 teams will compete from 23 countries; view the full list of competitors here

In the show jumping Geoff Billington, Peter Charles, Ben Maher, Robert Smith and Tim Stockdale take care of the British team interests, while the Whittakers (John, Robert, Ellen and William) and many other famous names will compete in additional jumping competitions such as The H&M Six-Bar and the H&M Puissance on Thursday and Friday evening.

The Europeans also welcomes representatives from all the other WEG equestrian sports in Friday night’s gala evening, when the arena will be buzzing with famous names from across the disciplines.

Our top para riders will perform a dressage to music display while BD Chairman Jennie Loriston–Clarke has choreographed a team of dressage World Class riders who will present a quadrille to music in the famous Goodwood livery. Eventing riders Lucinda and Clayton Fredericks are among the personalities confirmed for an Eventer’s Grand Prix competition and visitors can also look forward to demonstrations of carriage driving, vaulting, endurance and reining.

On top of the equestrian stars in the main arena, two other famous names will grace the Championships on Friday evening when boxing superstars Muhammad Ali and Sir Henry Cooper come face to face to help raise awareness of the recently founded Alltech-Muhammad Ali Center Global Education and Charitable Fund.

BD members are entitled to 20% off all tickets for this spectacular Friday performance (normally priced £49, £45, £35, £28, £22). To redeem the offer please quote ‘BD FRIDAY’ when you book by calling 0871 230 1087, or enter ‘BD FRIDAY’ into the special offer codes box when booking through www.alltechfeiwindsoreuropeans.com
