Eastern Regional: Double for Dan

last updated on August 07, 2006 00:00

Daniel Greenwood was the only rider to score a double win at the Summer Eastern Regional Championships held at the College Equestrian Centre, Bedfordshire, 5 and 6 August 2006.

Dan rode the seven-year-old Hannoverian gelding Wustensand, who is owned by John Dimopoulos, to win the elementary and medium open classes both on scores of more than 70%.

Dan, who trains with Henk van Bergen and has had the ride on the Weltmeyer offspring since April 2005, said:  “I wish I had a whole yard full of horses like him; he is so trainable and tries so hard. He always comes up with the goods. We were also qualified to compete in the advanced medium, but it was so hot, I decided to withdraw him and leave it for another time. After all, I am only allowed to compete him at two levels at the National Dressage Championships.”

The highest percentage of the show went to NFU Mutual Preliminary winner Sondra Darnbrough with Michel Assouline's  4 year old  Dimaggio gelding Demi-Jour who scored 73.47%
