British Dressage has taken the difficult decision to cease its combined training classes. The series will end once the current championship is decided in April 2010 at the Winter Dressage Championships, Hartpury.

The sport of affiliated dressage has grown rapidly since BD was formed more than ten years ago. During this time fewer and fewer competitors have come forward to take part in multi discipline competition. For this reason it has been decided that future resources will be better spent developing alternative dressage opportunities for our members. Competitors looking to take part in dressage with jumping still have many opportunities to choose from through British Riding Clubs.

BD’s Amanda Bond commented "we have been in discussions with British Eventing regarding transferring the Combined Training to them for a potential championship from 2011, as we had hoped this series might continue under their direction. However, at this time, we understand that BE are not in a position to move forward with this".

BD has been proud to host the Combined Training Championships for the past 11 years and would like to thank Spillers for their loyal sponsorship over many of these.
