UK Sport and its partners, the British Olympic Foundation (BOF) and CCPR, have successfully recruited 15 more participants to their Women and Leadership Development Programme (WLDP) including British Dressage’s Chief Executive Amanda Bond, the first equestrian representative in the group.
“I am delighted to be accepted on to this development programme,” said Bond. “It will provide a valuable exchange of ideas with other sports leaders which can only benefit equestrian. I can't wait to get going!"
The WLDP provides training and support for women with the talent and desire to achieve senior positions in sport, reaffirming each organisation’s commitment to gender equality as well as contributing to their influencing work in terms of international representation, developing excellence in sports leadership and advancing governance in sport.
Brigid Simmonds, Chair of CCPR, said: “The under-representation of women in sports leadership positions means that not all sports bodies are making the most of the resources which are available to them. The WLDP seeks to change that and ensure that more women have the chance to rise to the top.”
The other 14 Participants recently recruited are:
Jane Harvey – Snowsport Scotland
Holly Woodford - England Hockey
Lisa Wainwright – Volleyball England
