British Dressage Northern Region and Sarah Huntridge Equestrian Ltd will be hosting a Christmas event on Sunday 6 December 2009, from 1-6 pm at the Ramada Jarvis in Wetherby.

Opening the event will be Emmerdale’s Billy Hartman (pictured) who plays Terry Woods in the popular TV series. Along with acting, Hartman possesses a keen interest in equestrianism. “I’m delighted to have the opportunity to open the event,” said Hartman, who will be staying to meet BD members and enjoy some special holiday shopping deals.

Along with exhibitors’ displays there will be several informative discussions from the Northern Region on the 2010 training programme and selection policies for the Senior Inter Regional competition and Home International competition in 2010. Minster Vets will be speaking on basic equine first aid in the winter months with Louise Broom giving a talk on the influence of riders’ posture on the horses’ way of going.

This event is open to all with hot and cold food available throughout the day. Tickets in advance are £5 for BD members and £6 for non-members, children under 12 go free and tickets on the door will be £8.
