Come and watch the best British dressage riders competing at the 2006 Blue Waters National Dressage Championships, 14-17 September, at Stoneleigh Park, Warwickshire.

There will be hot competition to become this year’s national champion as the new sponsors, Blue Waters Hotel, are giving a two-week all-inclusive holiday for two at their hotel in Antigua to the winner. World Equestrian Games team member Sandy Phillips with Lara and this year’s surprise new stars Spencer Wilton and Dolendo will be in the battle.

Another first is the Elite Breeding Mare Auction, which takes place on Sunday, 17th September at 11am. Some 10 mares in-foal to world-class dressage stallions have been selected. You can view the mares and their x-rays from Thursday onwards. Click www.brightwells.com for more info.

Loads of top young horses are entered for Sunday’s Pavo Potential International Dressage Horse Championships. They include Valegro and Uthopia, who will be ridden by Carl Hester, as well as several horses from the Pidgley empire, to be ridden by Damian Hallam.

The weekend entertainment will include renowned dressage rider Richard Davison, who will be taking the Sheepgate Master Class, and there will be a young rider quadrille starring Henry Boswell, Anne-Marie Perry, Joanna James and Sally Makin.
