Richard Davison and 11 yr old gelding Hiscox Artemis posted their best performance to date at the 2010 CDI-W Lipica, Slovenia 27 - 30 May, winning the Grand Prix and World Cup qualifying Freestyle on 70.68% and 76.05%.
Richard partnered the Countess of Derby’s 16.2hh gelding to score a massive five points over second place Peter Gmoser and Cointreau from Austria on 71.55%. Anna Ross-Davies and Pegasus MK improved from eighth in the GP to finish a respectable seventh in the Kur on 68.85%.
With such promising results, Richard is understandably excited for the future. “With the freestyle as a World Cup qualifier, this win puts us in early poll position for the 2011 World Cup,” said Davison. “Hiscox Artemis is improving all the time and with two personal bests this weekend –his scores reflect that. He was completely error-free, light and uphill— an absolute pleasure to ride.”
Other Brits competing at Lipica were Julia Coppard and Final Destination who finished seventh in the Intermediate I and seventh in the Intermediate I Kur. Gillian Davison (wife of Richard Davision) and Hiscox Aliano placed eighth in the PSG with Alexandria Barr and Moosbends Ricardos representing Britain’s young riders with a third place finish in the individual test.
