BD Volunteer Awards 2010: our thanks to the following:

Alongside the AGM, British Dressage was delighted to award certificates to 20 individuals and show centres to thank them for their commitment and efforts on behalf of dressage as voted for by BD members. Congratulations and thank you to the following winners who often go that extra mile to help make our wonderful sport all it is.

Certificates were presented by BD Chairman Jennie Loriston-Clarke.

Volunteer Award Winners
Awarded for the contribution they make to the dressage scene through their hadwork and often unsung efforts.

Paul Hayler
For going above and beyond the call of duty, to make the eastern region superb. Always helpful, insightful, fair and has never ending energy and enthusiasm. He comes up with loads of great ideas, helps other committee members, teaches BYRDS and seniors, and is helping with organizing the Home International. He really motivates our riders, and has made Senior Training in the region the success it is today by his enthusiasm and energy.

Claire Moir
The outstanding contribution she has made to BYRDS SW over past 8 years is beyond description, we can never thank her enough.

Tessa Thorne



Tessa works endlessly and tirelessly to support the riders and RDO within the region and senior training would not be where it is without her.

Amanda Coleman
A founder member of a new initiative in NW region to set up a marketing group in 2008, Amanda is responsible for our editorial coverage which includes articles on BEF website and in a variety of regional publications. Amanda works closely with Mike to ensure maximum coverage of regional events and has recently agreed to write pieces for the BD mag.

Is on the Northern region marketing committee and has launched Northern region twitter, regularly comes up with fab new ideas to trial and works hard every quarter on the design and presentation of the Northern e-newsletter.

For excellent BYRDS help, support and organisation. Diann has helped with admin, organization of BYRDS events throughout the year and has extensive knowledge of the BD rule book!

Brilliant and very helpful with BYRDS Marnie assists with activities around the region despite her own horse being sidelined.

Samantha Collins
Sam has been a BYRDS rider for years, and now that her mum Eleanor has taken over as BYRDS rep, she has really helped out, coming to most events, sending out emails, spending both days at camp helping and also helping run our showcase evening, writing for judges etc

Very Friendly and helpful, good surfaces, fantastic stewards and fab food. Patsy and the team work tirelessly to put on fabulous shows - especially the inter regionals. Always friendly and helpful, great atmosphere, brilliant surfaces and yummy food and very accommodating organisers. A truly five star venue - a gold standard for other venues to try to obtain. Super surfaces, amazing canteen, friendly welcome.

Kingswood EC



Efficient, clean, well organised, friendly, good food, parking and surfaces. Smart café, warm, good viewing, scores almost immediately visible on TV screens in café and office. Well set out arenas for festivals, an excellent centre and organiser who continues to develop and enhance our regional Pet Plan Festivals through innovative ideas and technology. The 1st Petplan Equine Area Festival to have a live webcam! They run excellent comps throughout the year continually asking for feedback to ensure they are providing what our members want.

Superb organisation - great atmosphere. I went to regionals for the first time and despite shocking bad weather the centre made us welcome, were very efficient with scores and had good facilities, loos etc.
