A great day out at the FEI Pony European Championships 2010
last updated on June 21, 2010 12:36
The combined dressage, show jumping and eventing Pony European Championships take place in the UK from 28th July - 1st August 2010 for the first time in 13 years. To add to the sense of occasion hosts of the event, Bishop Burton College in East Yorkshire, have announced exciting plans to hold a Town & Country event alongside the championships on the final two days of the competition, Saturday 31st July and Sunday 1st August.
The Town & Country show will give weekend visitors the opportunity to enjoy a wide variety of rural displays and demonstrations alongside the excitement of the competition, ensuring a great day out for all the family. Attractions include falconry displays, a quad bike challenge, a mini zoo, dry stone walling demos, chainsaw sculpture, ferret racing, dog agility, a craft fair and vintage machinery displays.
A large retail village will also be open throughout the competition offering a range of equestrian and lifestyle trade stands to browse. British Dressage will be in attendance with a selection of test sheets, clothing and other merchandise available to buy; be sure to pop in and say hello!
College principal Jeanette Dawson commented: “Hosting the European Pony Championships was the perfect opportunity for us to reinstate the Town and Country event. We will have plenty of people on campus enjoying the Championships, who will no doubt appreciate some extra entertainment, plus the Town and Country event will attract visitors who may not ordinarily attend an equine competition. There will be something for everyone.”
