Anna Ross Davies and Aramis T were on top form at The College EC, Keysoe winning both the advanced medium open and medium open regionals. The eight year old by Abanos is owned by Anna’s long term owner and list 1 judge Judy Firmston-Williams, who was on hand to watch the exciting mare win. “I think her medium test was one of the best tests I have ever done,” said Anna, “we even got a ten for the final extended trot.” Anna has taken the mare slowly as at 17.2hh she has taken time to mature, “she is very talented but can be very hot,” said Anna, “she’s definitely a princess and we are her servants but she is great fun although she can have her moments. I fell off her on a Conrad Schumacher clinic,” she added, “she took off as I got on and I nearly ended up using Conrad as an airbag!”

Alex Hardwick was another to score a double winning both the advanced medium restricted and elementary open with Calvin G, the latter a hot class with some big names.

Teri England’s win in the preliminary came with her Farewell III mare Coady Bay Artique who was bought to event and has already picked up a number of top placings in the discipline, “I decided to do a few BD competitions to help improve her dressage,” said Teri who works full time as a marketing and project manager, “and I am really enjoying it so we will see how far we can go.”

Another who is steeped in eventing won the medium restricted, this year’s Badminton first timer Ginny Turnbull winning with Simply the Best III. The eleven-year-old has been consistently placed at the Winter Championships in the Dressage with Jumping Series.
