Stockholm CDI-W: Disappointed Hindle

It was a disappointing result for German-based British rider Emma Hindle at her last show of the year, Stockholm CDI-W in Sweden, 2-3 December 2006.
Emma, who finished sixth in the grand prix with the 13-year-old Hanoverian stallion Lancet on 68.916% and ninth in the FEI World Cup freestyle qualifier with 70.8%, said: “I was pleased with our new music, but Lancet did not travel well. He was super at Stuttgart two weeks ago [where they scored their personal bests], but he didn’t have any of that sparkle and we made lots of mistakes. On the other hand, I have learned a lot from the experience, having looked at all the factors that have contributed to the result.”
Lancet will now enjoy a break from competition until February next year when the stallion shows start.
The other German-based British rider competing in Stockholm was Fiona Bigwood, who rode the 13-year-old Swedish-bred gelding Mr G de Lully into eighth place in the grand prix with 67.708% and finished just behind Emma in 10th place in the freestyle with a respectable 70.250%.
Home riders proved unbeatable as Jan Brink and Bjorsells Briar headed a Swedish one-two-three in the FEI World Cup freestyle qualifier. The stars of this year’s World Games, Andreas Helgstrand and Blue Hors Matine, were back in action and won the grand prix with 75.125%, but the hugely talented nine-year-old mare dropped to fifth place after she knocked herself during the freestyle.
