Amsterdam CDI-W: Davison and Hiscox Artemis score a personal best

Richard Davison and the Countess of Derby’s Florestan I bred gelding Hiscox Artemis impressed to score a substantial 71.63% in the grand prix and 77.15% in the grand prix freestyle during round seven of the Reem Acra FEI World Cup Dressage series at Amsterdam CDI-W, 20-23 January 2011.

“I’ve been waiting for this,” Davison explained after the pair smashed their personal best grand prix score, “Hiscox Artemis’ training has really improved recently but the last few shows have not reflected this. I believe that he is now ready to achieve more than 72% in a grand prix. I feel he has turned a corner and will be able to show what he can really do.”

Placing fifth in the grand prix and fourth in the grand prix freestyle Davison continues to hold down the position of highest placed Brit in the Reem Acra FEI World Cup™ Western European League Dressage Standings. At twelve years old Hiscox Artemis has already amassed considerable success, winning many international classes at 3* level. Having moved up to World Cup level the combination, who are currently fifth in the league are looking ahead to earning their place at the World Cup Final in Leipzig, Germany 27 April – 1 May 2011.
