UKCC INTERACTIVE TASTER AND INTRODUCTION DAY
Led by Jill Day with Jenny Ward
MONDAY 11 JUNE 2012 – 10am – 3pm(approx.)
At Brampton Stables, Stables Lane, Church Brampton, Northampton NN6 8BH
Jill Day is a former British Dressage Director of Training and one of BD’s most senior Coach Educators and Assessor.
Jenny Ward is a Coach Educator and Assessor and Central Region Coaching Delegate.
This day is designed to give a “hands-on” approach to the UKC Certificate covering parts of topics at both Level 2 and Level 3.
There will be an opportunity to put your coaching skills into practise but it is all very informal and hopefully interactive. If you are not sure which level might be suitable for you then this is your chance to find out and to ask any questions you may have.
This is a day purely for the Region’s coaches and any other interested parties and a perfect opportunity to pitch your coaching skills amongst friends!
Guinea pig riders will be provided but there will be absolutely no pressure to teach unless you want to and every opportunity to learn.
We have managed to subsidise this workshop and offer it to you at only £20 for the day including tea, coffee & biscuits. Please feel free to bring along a packed lunch.

We have been so lucky this year to have Andrew help us with our training. He is such an inspiration & gives you so much confidence and clarity about his training methods. He is a pleasure to work with. His clinics seem to fill within a “a minute” so please do book early to secure your place. We are really grateful to Nicola Trinder from Granborough in Buckinghamshire for kindly offering the use of her lovely indoor school with an excellent surface in order our winter training may continue with Andrew whatever the weather. These sessions count as official regional training & cater for all levels from Prelim to Grand Prix.

We are so lucky that David Hunt, BD’s very own Director of Training has very kindly agreed to give us some more dates for this yearat Derick & Jenny Ward’s yard in Church Brampton, Northamptonshire NN6 8BH. David will coach all levels and impart his knowledge upon you! The days are open to ALL and can be used in your portfolio for those working towards the UKCC L2 & L3. David coaches from Prelim to Grand Prix.

If you would like to have a private one to one session at a subsidised rate of £65 then do not miss out or if you would prefer to come along, spectate and interact with David the cost is £18 and will include a fabulous lunch with teas & coffees throughout the whole day. The day will commence at 9am and end around 5pm although you do not have to stay for the whole day.
Jenny will be on hand to answer any niggly questions you may have about the UKCC.
Please do not miss out on this unique opportunity to work with David. These dates fill very quicky (last years date was full within three days!!) so please book early to avoid disappointment.

AN INTRODUCTION TO PARA EQUESTRIAN by WAVENEY LUKE
Hi, I am the Para Delegate for the Central Region. I hope that all the Para riders will help me in promoting our sport and working with our wonderful Para riders. My aim is to help the Para movement continue to progress in our region and as a member of the Para committee nationally. I want to help you realise your dreams and ambitions, find the training you need, competitions at good venues and to support you with information and advice if you need it. I hope to be at as many Para competitions as I can and will be glad to talk to you on the telephone or by email if you think I can be of help in any way.
Many, congratulations to our Central England Para Team for winning Gold at the Para Home International this weekend (20/21st August) at Vale View EC. Our winning team was made up of Tamsin Addison, Alex Sutton & Natasha Atkinson. Well done guys!

Central Region announces Inter-Regional Judges Quiz
This will be a quiz for teams of five consisting of:
One judge from lists 1, 2a or 2
One judge from lists 3a or 3
One judge from list 4 or 5
One judge from list 6 or trainee
One affiliated rider or trainer (not a judge or trainee judge)
All eight of the BD Regions will be taking part and we hope the Grand Final will be at Stoneleigh next Spring. Each Region will send one team to the final.There will be a trophy for the winning Region.
To help select Central Region’s team for the Final there will be a knockout competition in the Autumn. To enter a team you will need to: appoint a skipper, find four other members, give you team a name and register your team with Joyce Head.
The knockout round and the final will follow this format:
There will be ten categories, each with ten questions
Each correct answer earns one point
Eight categories will not be known until the day
Teams have a Joker they can elect to play on one of these eight categories
Each correct answer in the Joker category earns two points
There will be two other categories – “Horsey” and “General knowledge”
The Grand Final will be held at Addington Equestrian Centre on Thursday 15th March 2012

Central Region announces Inter-Regional Judges Quiz
This will be a quiz for teams of five consisting of:
One judge from lists 1, 2a or 2
One judge from lists 3a or 3
One judge from list 4 or 5
One judge from list 6 or trainee
One affiliated rider or trainer (not a judge or trainee judge)
All eight of the BD Regions will be taking part and we hope the Grand Final will be at Stoneleigh next Spring. Each Region will send one team to the final.There will be a trophy for the winning Region.
To help select Central Region’s team for the Final there will be a knockout competition in the Autumn. To enter a team you will need to: appoint a skipper, find four other members, give you team a name and register your team with Joyce Head.
The knockout round and the final will follow this format:
There will be ten categories, each with ten questions
Each correct answer earns one point
Eight categories will not be known until the day
Teams have a Joker they can elect to play on one of these eight categories
Each correct answer in the Joker category earns two points
There will be two other categories – “Horsey” and “General knowledge”
The Grand Final will be held at Addington Equestrian Centre on Thursday 15th March 2012
