Meet our team

The day-to-day running of British Dressage (BD) is the responsibilty of our 38 BD staff who beaver away behind the scenes at the Meriden Business Park headquarters in the West Midlands and in our eight regions to make competitive dressage in Britain happen.

Jason provides leadership to the team and works with the Chairman and the Board on delivering the strategic plan. As CEO he oversees all areas and supports many of the technical committees. He manages all of BD’s commercial arrangements, budgets and financial bids, as well as the relationships with key partners such as the BEF, the FEI and government agencies. He ensures the office and regions run smoothly and provides the necessary services to meet the needs of members.

Angela has the task of dealing with the inordinate amount of paperwork generated by all the committee meetings, preparing agendas and taking minutes, as well as performing the standard secretarial roles of keeping the CEO’s diary and fielding all calls.

Position: Regional Development Officers

There are eight regional development officers (RDOs) on the payroll based in their own regions. They organise affordable clinics and training days for all members at all levels, as well as judge training, working closely with the fixtures officer.

Each RDO is part of a committee with a chairman and regional representatives for training, under-25s, judges and Paralympics. Stacey, Faye and Alex process the membership applications and renewals of BD’s 17,000 members every year, entering the details on computer and keeping an up-to-date record of all members.

They're also in charge of music membership and arrange this membership for non-BD members who compete in freestyle tests, so they don’t break the law when they play their music in public.

The girls also deal with more than 15,000 horse registrations a year and sort the downgrading and assessments of horses and horse passports.

BD holds detailed records of each registered horse, including its competition results, height, age, colour, etc. As a member, you can access your horse’s details online by clicking results and you can also view other horses’ competition results free of charge.

This role is responsible for all marketing activity for British Dressage. In conjunction with the membership and communications teams, it creates marketing campaigns to support promotions, initiatives and events throughout the year. Working closely with the RDOs, the role is responsible for ensuring they’re all equipped with the relevant marketing materials and collateral to ensure they can effectively promote their region and its activities. Acting as brand champion, the post holder works to make sure the BD brand and message is consistent across all platforms and clients, from sponsors to venues.

Millie works closely with Winnie to support all BD's marketing and commercial activity. She helps to manage our loyal partners and sponsors as well as co-ordinating a huge, diverse campaign plan for the year. Millie is also a vital team member at BD event press offices.

Charlotte heads the Training & Education team including judges and coaches plus overseeing all training and events such as the Judges Seminar, National Convention, FEI training courses and BD Youth. Charlotte is also our Safeguarding lead.

The team works closely with the Training & Education Manager to help organise events such as the National Convention and the Judges Seminar. 

In their roles, Viki and Sophia liaise with the Training Committee to help develop the UKCC Courses and the Trainers database.

Sophia manages the current listed judges database, they also work with the Judges Committee and are in charge of running training and examinations for judges and supporting their activities.

This position heads up the Sport Operations team delivering Grading, Fixtures, Para, BD Youth, International and Quest, reviewing and refining the Rules and framework to meet the requirements of the sport and membership.

Lianne deals with all matters international for Britain's top senior riders. She organises their trips abroad, sorting invitations from international shows, entries, travel documents, FEI riders and horse licenses, FEI Horse Passports. Her job also involves liaising with selectors and chef d'equipes. 




Natasha Pearce

Natasha deals with the invitations from international para shows and organises trips abroad for para competitors, sorting their travel arrangements and documents. She also works closely with Lianne Martin (above) to arrange international trips for Britain's leading senior riders.

Natasha liaises with the selectors to produce selection policies and assist in the organisation of any events, such as the para national convention.

This role manages the competition calendar, putting together the Show schedules for nearly 2,000 days of competition a year and liaising with show organisers. Monica doesn't run any shows, so please send your entries to the relevant show organiser, not the BD office.

Steph adminsters the smooth running of the Quest series which incorporates Team Quest and My Quest. She registers teams, collates the regional leaderboards, manages the fab Quest Facebook page and organises the Championships.

As grading officer, Charlene enters all the show results from the 2,000 days of competition held in Britain every year on a database. This information is available online in the Results section of this website.

Charlene also ensures the relevant show organisers are provided with details of competitors who have qualified for their shows.The grading officer also allocates the wild cards for the national and winter championships.

Sharon looks after BD Youth riders up to 25 years old, particularly help administer the Young Professionals Programme and Pony Squad Training, along with the teams for international Competitions and the huge range of other BYRDS activities.

This role works closely with the Training & Education Manager to help coordinate BD Youth Activities such as Foundation Academies and BD Youth National Academies.

The holder liaises with the BD Youth Committee to help develop the youth education offerings such as the Young professionals Programme, DISE and the Apprenticeship courses. She also works with the other Training and Education Officers to provide youth workforce development opportunities and maintain the BD Youth Coach and Rider Test Assessor lists.

Winnie is the editor of British Dressage magazine. She manages the PR and press service for the sport, both on a day to day basis and for major events and international teams. Winnie manages all communication to BD's stakeholders, including the social media, news, print and online publications, event programmes, content and news for the website and all email newsletters.  Winnie is the Voluntary Data Protection Officer for BD.

Pam deals with online and telephone orders, supplying venues with score sheets, and customers with test sheets and merchandise. She organises the post room, the stock levels in the shop, and orders all office stationery.




David Mountford
Position: IT Applications Developer

David works tirelessly to keep our IT systems up and running. He oversees our members database, results systems and organisers event portal and how all of them interact with the website.
