Writer Applications for National Championships 2019

Applications to write at the National Championships being held at Stoneleigh Park, Warwickshire are now open. The competition will run from Thursday 12 September to Sunday 15 September. In order apply, you will need to have had previous writing experience. The application form can be found here and applications will close on Tuesday 28 May 2019. All applications should be sent via post or email to Sophia Monington, details of which can be found on the application form. 

Writing can prove a beneficial opportunity to the insight of major competitions whatever your participation with dressage.

Principles of Judging Seminar 2019

Returning to Moulton College in Northamptonshire on 5 – 6 October, judges, trainers, riders and dressage fans alike will be treated to a rare opportunity to learn from three of the most globally respected FEI judges, Isobel Wessels, Clive Halsall and Peter Storr. With live arena demonstrations and class room sessions, expect an interactive, immersive weekend of education led by three progressive judging talents. Covering Intro to Prix St Georges, sessions will delve into discussion around quality of paces, lateral work, scales of marking, test riding and more with plenty of opportunity to participate, ask questions and voice your opinion. The full timetable will be released later in the year, follow the BD website for the latest news.

The Principles of Judging Seminar also counts towards your annual CPD hours so is well worth a visit!

IDOC Training

The IDOC are hosting three days of judging seminars for List 1, 2a and 2 judges at Hartpury from 5 - 7 July 2019. The seminars will be presented by Isobel Wessels (FEI 5*) and Susie Hoevenaars (FEI 5*) and will be a combination of classroom style theory sessions and viewing sessions of live classes. DVD Clips

Following Part 2 exams, we will be offering the opportunity to access the DVD clips used during the exam. These will be available for a limited time. Bookings will be taken once all candidates have received results and the appeals window has closed. For further updates, please keep an eye in the Judges Newsletter or alternatively the booking link will be detailed here once open. 

Seminars - CPD Requirements

All judges must attend one whole day seminar as a minimum per calendar year. The seminar can be either a national event (Principles Seminar) or a regional seminar. The attendee must ensure they register /provide their tickets on arrival to ensure they are officially logged. Those not attending a whole day will be not be able to log the seminar as CPD.
