Laura Bechtolsheimer in “Getting to Greenwich”

This Monday sees the premiere of a new episode of "Getting to Greenwich", Horse & Country TV's series following eight of Britain's top equestrian athletes as they strive to make the team for London 2012. Monday's programme features dressage rider Laura Bechtolsheimer, currently number three in the world rankings and one of the UK's best medal prospects.

In the show Laura shows us around her state of the art yard and talks about how pilates benefits her riding and how sports psychology has helped turn her into a genuine medal contender. We meet her family who have played a key role in her success, watch her train with her father, and see Laura behind the scenes as she competes at Olympia where she won the Grand Prix Freestyle on Mistral Horjis. Overall, as with all of the Getting to Greenwich episodes, we gain a real insight into what takes to compete at the very highest levels of horse sport.

Laura will be watching with great interest on Monday night "I am really looking forward to seeing the episode as the filming was a new experience for me. It's great to see dressage attracting this level of exposure in the run up to London 2012."

The series is produced by Lizzie Greenwood-Hughes’ production company, Harkaway Media and is sponsored by NAF, Official Suppliers to the British Equestrian Teams.

Getting to Greenwich will be broadcast at 9pm on Monday 16th January on Horse & Country TV, Sky Channel 280.
