Fun in the sun for Anna and her trio

Anna Ross-Davies made the long trip south to Vejer de la Frontera in Spain for the 2013 Sunshine Tour a worthwhile one with a number of placings and three wins with her three rides, Pegasus MK, Ulia and Marinetty TSF.

Anna has been re-united with grand prix ride Pegasus MK after he went to be sold but a chance meeting at a pub quiz led to a new owner taking him on for Anna to keep the ride. Anna has produced the horse from nothing to grand prix and the trip to the sun cemented their relationship and showed it would have been a shame to break the partnership up. In week one they placed second in the GP and third in the freestyle, with both scores tipping the 68% mark. Week two he came out even stronger and they were second again in the GP however with a boosted mark of 69.46% - with three of the five judges awarding them over 70%. The freestyle went a bit more to plan which again gave a better mark of 72.3% for second spot. It looks like a great start to what could be their best season with the support of

Sarah Connell’s Ulia contested the Owners Classes with Anna as it’s their first season together. The Gribaldi-sired chestnut mare had three seconds in week one but in week two, scored wins in the individual and freestyle competitons, both with +66% scores.

Trakehner Marinetty TSF, owned by Sarah Thomas, whom Anna took the ride over on late last year and says she’s ‘babysitting’, also had a case of ‘seconditis’ with two runners-up placings before going on to score a resounding win in the PSG with 68.579%.

Both horses are Regionals bound so we may be seeing more of them at the NAF Five Star Winter Championships.

“I’m chuffed to bits with all of them,” said a delighted Anna. “All three have improved in the two weeks of competition and I couldn’t be more thrilled. To have Pegasus back is wonderful and thanks to Jane for making it happen. He’s such a fun horse and is just getting going internationally so the future is exciting.”
