BD Vacancy: Para-Equestrian Committee Member

There has never been a more exciting time to get involved with Para Dressage. The sport is enjoying a public profile like never before, as participation goes from strength to strength and Great Britain continues to enjoy huge success on the world stage.

A vacancy has arisen on the British Dressage Para-Equestrian Committee for a Para Dressage Competition Representative.

Specifically, the Para Dressage Competition Representative works with the Technical Committee to support and develop the competition opportunities for Para Equestrian Dressage and ensure the development of the competition framework in Great Britain.

The Para Committee is a sub-committee of the Board of British Dressage whose purpose is to supervise all affairs relating to Para Equestrian as well as developing and maintaining competition and training pathway for all Para Riders. Requirements for this vacancy on the committee are:

• Have experience of organising Dressage competitions at all levels

• Have a working knowledge of BD & Para Competition Structure & rules.

• Be approachable and have good communication skills

• Represent the interests of British Dressage in all matters arising for Para-Equestrian Dressage Competitions

• Enthusiasm and drive to help shape Para-equestrian Dressage in Great Britain

• Great organisational abilities – this is a hands-on role

• Being happy to do the mundane tasks to make it happen as well as the more exciting developmental planning
• Computer literacy (and access to a computer) – most communications are by email

• Masses of enthusiasm for your specific subject and the sport of dressage
• Enough time available
