Myerscough kicks off the first of the Premier Leagues

Today, stars from all over the UK will flock to Myerscough, Lancashire for the first of eight annual Premier League competitions (22 – 26 March 2016). Spectators can expect five days of action-packed dressage crossing all levels, from the youngsters in the Shearwater British Dressage Young Horse qualifiers to the top of the pyramid in the Grand Prix.

A perfect fixture for those looking to star gaze, kicking off proceedings is Tuesday’s TopSpec Medium and Equine Construction Advanced Medium, featuring a host of up-and-coming riders as well as some top names. Becky Moody has a packed week ahead of her as she prepares to compete a whopping 12 times with her six rides, Darina O (Advanced Medium x3 and Advanced), Santa Tropes HFD (Advanced and PSG x2), Heavenly Kiss BS (4yo Young Horse), Hadora (4yo Young Horse), Carinsio (Inter I x 2) and G Force BS (5yo Young Horse).

One must-watch class is Thursday’s Fairfax Saddles PSG. A direct qualifier to the LeMieux National Championships, the 40-strong class includes huge names such as Emile Faurie, Matt Hicks, Jessica Gale, Gaby Lucas and Harry Payne to name a few. Also, the start of Easter weekend is welcomed with the crowd-favourite music classes on Friday (25 March) with the likes of Pippa Hutton and Emma Hindle battling it out in the Horse Health Grand Prix Freestyle, Jo Barry and Corchapin (pictured) practicing their PSG Freestyle before the NAF Five Star Winter Championships in April, and Emma Blundell, Abi Hutton and Nathalie Kayal dancing with their equine partners in the Saracen Horse Feeds Inter I Freestyle.

Unable to get to Lancashire to catch the action in person? Fear not! In association with Saracen Horse Feeds, Myerscough College and Equestrian Pro will be live streaming all classes over the course of the competition. Click here to start watching.
