Keysoe Premier League: Eilberg's new star

Michael Eilberg and new ride Sa Coeur were untouchable on their Small Tour debut at Keysoe Premier League in Bedfordshire, 18-20 April 2016.

Michael (pictured) rode Elena Knyaginicheva’s spectacularly gifted nine-year-old, Sa Coeur (Sir Donnerhall x Don Davidoff), to win both the Fairfax Saddles Prix St Georges and the Saracen Horse Feeds Intermediate I with 75.79% and 75.39% respectively. The pair has since gone on to dominate the Small Tour at Saumur CDI3* in France.

Sa Coeur joined the Eilberg stable, which is full of some serious horsepower, last summer. The good-looking bay was a celebrated double-winner of the World Young Championships. He won in 2012 as a five-year-old, and again, in 2013 as a six-year-old, under the charge of German rider Eva Möller.

The future is burning bright for 29-year-old Michael whose aptitude as a rider has earned him an arsenal of some of the most exciting horses in the world. This includes Sa Coeur’s stablemate Der Designer, also owned by Elena, and the superstar mare, Woodlander Farouche.

Winner of the LeMieux Grand Prix was Spencer Wilton and Goodmans Supernova, Jen Goodman’s 13-year-old son of De Niro. Spencer and ‘Neville’ are on flying form this year having enjoyed Grand Prix and Grand Prix Special victories at Lier CDI3* in March. The pair was at Keysoe fresh from Nieuw En St Joosland CDI3* in the Netherlands where they were Grand Prix Special runners-up.
