BD Vacancy: Junior & Young Rider Selector

British Dressage is looking to appoint a Junior and Young Rider Selector to support and develop the Junior and Young Rider squads and teams.

All Under 21 officials are required to have knowledge of the BD and BEF Safeguarding policy and will be required to have a Disclosure and Barring Service check and attend an Equine Safeguarding course every 3 years.

Junior & Young Rider Selector
To work with the Chief Junior and Young Rider Selector and other appointed selectors in order to develop squads and select individual rider/horse combinations or teams of rider/horse combinations to represent Great Britain at FEI competitions, in line with the Junior and Young Rider Selection Policy. U21 Selectors report directly to their relevant Chief Selector and the Director of International Teams.

The role, which is voluntary (travel and accommodation expenses are paid), includes attending an annual Viewing Day to select riders for the Junior and Young Rider Squads and Squad Training sessions, monitoring training throughout the winter months and results during the year.  It also involves periods of time away from home to attend national and international competitions.

The small team of Junior and Young Rider Selectors work closely together and liaise with the Chef d’Equipes.

The person appointed will need to be confidential, tactful and a good communicator. Technical judging and/or coaching skills preferable. Judging experience to be list 3 or above.

A full role description can be found here. Applicants should send their CV and covering letter by email to Karen Ryder by Friday 24 June. It is planned that interviews will take place at British Dressage offices, Meriden Business Park, Meriden, West Midlands.
