BD vacancy: Sport Operations Manager

After six years at the helm of the Sports department, Paul Graham is moving on to an exciting opportunity with British Triathlon.  He'll be missed and we wish him well on this new venture. We're now recruiting for a Sport Operations Manager to fill his position.

As a member of the senior management team, the Sport Operations Manager is responsible for all areas of sport delivery including fixtures, results, grading, governance, rules and anti-doping. Their role is central to driving participation in dressage at all levels, for both able bodied and para riders, regionally, nationally and internationally. In conjunction with our Regional & Volunteer Manager, the role will work closely with the Regional Development Officers to ensure that quality competition opportunities are developed and maintained across BD’s eight regions.

We’re looking for someone who has strong leadership skills, with a proven track record in sport operations. Politically astute, with high levels of emotional intelligence, they must work closely with all stakeholders and partners in order to influence the development of the sport and ensure high standards of delivery at all times. The post holder must be an excellent communicator and be competent in relationship building at all levels. Confident and articulate, the Sport Operations Manager will be an effective ambassador for British Dressage with the ability to multi-task and meet tight deadlines, working equally well autonomously or as part of a team.

The successful candidate will have excellent people management and influencing skills that have been developed and honed in a similar environment. A broad knowledge, interest and understanding of equestrian sport, and in particular dressage, would be advantageous for this role, although not essential.

Due to the nature of our sport a flexible approach to working, including some weekends and evenings, is required. You must also have a full, clean driving license and be prepared to travel as required. For more information please see the Role Description.

To apply for this role, please send a covering letter outlining your suitability and provide a copy of your CV by email to the Chief Executive, Jason Brautigam:
