Allen & Page to sponsor Associated Championships

From vivacious veterans to dazzling draught horses, the Associated Championships have gone from strength to strength and British Dressage is pleased to announce that sponsors, Allen & Page will now be extending their support to cover the multitude of series within the Championships.

Norfolk-based equestrian feed manufacturer, Allen & Page, sponsored the well-received Veteran Championships and Native Pony Championships in 2016 and will be extending their support to include the Spanish Horse, Lusitano, Draught Horse series, the ever-popular Traditional Gypsy Cob Association Championships and, new for 2017, the Arab Horse Championships.

Created to prove that all combinations can aspire to ride at a BD championship, regardless of age, shape or size, the Championships have proved a huge hit with the membership, reaching record numbers in participation in 2016. With over 150 combinations registering their qualification already, both the Veteran and Native Pony series have been extended, to a four day show for the Veterans and a whopping five days of competition for the Natives, with added freestyle classes at host venue Vale View Equestrian in Leicestershire.

Rosettes, sashes and plaques will be on offer at all of the Allen & Page Associated Championships, welcoming riders of all ages and abilities to qualify. Allen & Page will also be awarding prizes to the top placed combinations across the championships, including vouchers to be used against their extensive product list suitable for every type of horse – from Veteran Light for the older horse to ‘L’ Mix for laminitis-prone. Area representatives from the feed specialists will be on hand at each championship and would love to meet you and hear your story, and will also be available to give equine nutritional advice to all.

Eligible combinations have until the 30 September 2017 (31 August 2017 for the Native Pony series) to achieve their qualification, simply by achieving three scores above 60% at BD or Quest shows at their chosen level. Those new to BD are welcome to qualify, with our new Club membership you can qualify at Intro or Prelim level for a £30 membership fee and your horse can join for free!

Sue Bullock and her horse Zeneca attended the Allen & Page Veteran Horse Championships in October and had an amazing experience. “I wanted to say a huge thank you to the team involved in the Veteran Championships. We had a lovely day, with an added bonus of winning the Elementary over 20 years section and coming 2nd in the over 20 years Medium section too. The quality of horses was amazing, not one looked 'old' and they were a credit to every owner! I was proud to be part of it” said Sue.

“The Allen & Page representatives were lovely too, it was so nice to chat to the sponsors! To add to our day, I got in touch through social media with the lady who bred my horse Zeneca and she came along to support! It was lovely hearing the stories of his younger years. So a huge thank you again.”
