Britain’s riders leave for AYOF
The equestrian team has left for the Australian Youth Olympic Festival (AYOF) to be held in Sydney, 14-18 January 2009. Emily Cousins, Jessica Dunn and Charlie Hutton will be representing Britain on borrowed horses.
The dressage starts on Friday with a prelim test followed by a team test on Saturday and individual freestyle on Sunday. The scores from these three tests are added together to decide the individual placings. The team results are decided by adding the team test scores of each country’s three team members.

The AYOF aims to provide future Olympic athletes with an environment similar to an Olympic Games and promote the Olympic ideals of friendship, solidarity and fair play. Some 25 nations are taking part in 21 sports.
